A barn dance, ho down, ceilidh, ceili, Austrailian bush dance, etc are all esssentially the same thing. They are community dances which are led by a caller who MC's the evening. The caller will take the audience though the dance first as a dry run then the dance will be done to music with the caller anouncing the moves during the dance. The audience will all have partners and be in small groups called sets the format of the set changes according to the type of dance being undertaken.
I am based in the Bristol area and I will generally travel around one and a half hours distance from Bristol. I am willing to travel further afield however this may incure further charges for accomadation etc.
I work with a number of different bands and will arrange the right one for your event, to meet your budget and occasion.
This is by far the cheapest way to hold a barn dance. I have a wide variety of music held on a laptop ideal for small parties and fund raising.
I can offer a disco at the end of the evening with no extra charge. Or you can play your music through my sound system via an iPod or other device.
With over twenty years experience I have callled for a variety of different barn dances from fund raisers through to weddings, family parties, Burns Nights etc. Once booked I am willing to share this experience with you to make the planning and running of your barn dance easier.
The prices quoted below are guidelines only. The actual cost will depend on your requirements, distanced travelled and type of event. Please note the prices given are for a standard 4 hour gig. No reduction for shorter timings unfortunatly, as your event will tie up a whole evening.
Prices start from £400 and go up to £600+ depending on the band used. Price includes the caller.

There is a possible discount of up to a 33% for dances that are for charity or fund raising provided you meet certain criteria. Please make an enquiry to find out if you qualify. Recorded music only bands like full payment.
The prices given here are for a stantard 4 hour gig starting between 7pm and 8pm (no reduction for shorter timings). Should you wish the event to go over the 4 hours or after 12pm then there will be an extra charge of up to £50 per hour for recorded music and £150+ for bands per hour. Should you wish to have a disco at the end of the event or use the sound system to play your own music there is no extra charge provided it is within the stantard timing. Over standard timing will incur a £50 per hour extra charge.
